Red Storm will be attending this year’s Heroes and Villains event at the Museum of Life + Science in Durham, NC.

Explore the science behind entertainment and meet experts in the fields of special effects, make-up artistry, video game design and simulation, comic book art, and staged combat.

Friday, September 21st from 6:00pm until 9:00pm enjoy Heroes and Villains After Darkan event for adults 21+ only. Admission is $7 and includes a free beer for Museum members.

Saturday, September 22nd from 10:00am until 5:00pm is the main event, open to visitors of all ages. Activities are included in the price of museum admission.

This year’s Activities and Exhibits include:

  • The Human PoWeR Lab with Ben Robertson - See a THOUGHT-CONTROLLED, lightweight, air-powered exoskeleton!
  • How to Make Your Home-Made Movie Look Big Budget! - Learn more about micro-budget film making with local Graphic Artist, Musician, Writer and Film Maker, Brent Bowers and Todd Britt, a specialist in physical makeup effects.
  • Ultimate Comics - Meet the “Ultimates” from Ultimate Comics and learn more about graphic storytelling and character drawing.
  • Star Wars Characters - The Carolina Garrison is the North Carolina/South Carolina chapter of the 501st Legion, an all-volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization with more than 4,000 active members representing more than 45 nations.
  • Red Storm Entertainment - Ever wonder how actors pose in front of those fantastic computer-generated scenes in your favorite movies? Red Storm will be demonstrating Green Screen Technology for guests to be able to pose for pictures against a number of virtual backdrops.
  • Dean Jones - The Emmy Award-winning special effects make-up artist, filmmaker and director will be on-hand displaying his masks and doing live effects makeup demonstrations.
  • David McClutchey - Local actor, stunt coordinator, and fight choreographer demonstrating simple stunts with sparring partner Terra Kenakin.
